Noam Chomsky: "The US created the background out of which ISIS grew"

Published on Oct 4, 2014

An interview of Professor Noam Chomsky of MIT by David Barsamian. The interview takes us on a general overview of the state of the Middle East, and the role that Turkey has played in it. Covering the origins of ISIS all the way to the Kurdish issues in Turkey, Professor Chomsky gives us a glimpse of the complex politics of the area and his opinion on the future moving forward.

I like the part around the 25min mark where he points out how disgusted the West is at the beheadings, yet for some reason view the drone bombings as less violent.

I like the part around the 56.40 minute mark where he said (paraphrasing) that "Israel, the US, Britain, and other clients are rogue states w/a monopoly of force on the planet, and they ignore UN rules given to the rest of the world as a result".
