Here are 2 NGOs that have been working in W Africa, trying to help those sick, contain those exposed, educate everyone. They are in need of more funding and would appreciate anything you would give to help. If DUers have others, please add them. Being able to help is good.

(115,677 posts)mailings asking for money. I told them if I could get put on a "do not mail" list, I'd keep donating but didn't want to see my money spent asking for more. They stopped, haven't gotten anything else from them so I keep donating.
I do not know if they still send requests, if they do, call and ask them to stop.

(115,677 posts)First time I decided I needed aome teal world experience rather than going in right out of college. The second time I was in a group of nurses headed to Liberia when we all were suddenly let go. They decided they prefered non-professionals, people who would go to new parts of the country and get the locals used to americans vs having nurses who'd do things. I still think about it but MSF would be more what I'd like now, If I were to do such a thing.
