Prop. 45 and 46 go down in Cali..

Are you fucking kidding me? In a deep Blue State? Insurance Companies will not have to have go through Insurance Commissioner for rate changes (meaning increases)... and caps for medical malpractice suites will not be allowed to be increased? Are we that fucking stupid in this state as well.

The answer is yes, Especially if millions upon millions of dollars were pumped in by health insurance companies spewing nothing but lies...I understand how complicated issues can be misunderstood by the public.. But these two props were so simple.. It is just fucking scary how dumb we are...

19. That's what they want you to believe. If you look closer

the voting corruption was bigger than ever seen before. Plus only 25% voted and it was the most expensive election ever. What really happened was what was bought and paid for and I don't mean just bought with political ads. I mean senators literally throwing out tens of thousands of votes. Watch democracynow.org's show today.

2. A slew of ads against it, full of lies.

And, barely any for it. I knew it would go down. People are easily led by tv ads.

4. Prop 45 should have passed. However, the onslaught of misleading ads started very early

By the time the Pro-45 people got their message out, it was too late.

6. But as I stated in my original post.

These 2 props were so easy to grasp.. Everyone who has their lives controlled by Health Insurance Companies which means millions...donít want an elected official to oversee rate increases and perhaps prevent excessive rate increases? WTF I mean really WTF..

By the way who were the Pro-45 46 people.. My wife told she saw one ad explaining the proposition.. I did not see one..

33. Yes, in CA we have an auto insurance comissioner who does the same thing

But the anti ads started early and were effective in painting any potential health insurance commissioner as a corrupt politician who would take bribes. The fact that Californians are required by Federal law to buy health insurance means that the state should have a hand in controlling the cartel and its rates. Kaiser and Anthem Blue Cross spent huge money fighting this prop. I don't know where the "pro" people were.

5. Actually, I voted against 46 because of the drug testing mandate.

I will never vote to reduce anyone's privacy.

7. So Pilots should not be tested..

Besides the capping of malpractice suits is an horrendous idea.. Especially if it is your loved one who falls victim to a surgeon who happened to be hung over when in surgery.. You think there should be a cap?

10. Then drug test all. How often should we do that?

If you want to give up your rights to privacy, please volunteer but leave mine in tact.

13. Doesn't make it right and I sure didn't vote for it.

But rest assured, that is not why prop 45 went down. Most didn't even know about the drug testing aspect of it. Follow the money (and the tv ad spending).

16. Yeah, because all doctors are always high.

Funny how mine always seem to be quite sober. Leave it up to hospital administrators to deal with doctors that might have an addiction problem.

It is an invasion of privacy, period.

27. Welcome to our world

Where an $8.00 an hour job requires a drug test. But somehow that isn't an invasion of privacy. But all hail doctors who have access to drugs and can misuse them.

28. Epic Fail in Logic

Please show me where he said that
I don't live in California and I would have voted against it for that reason
I did follow much of the election (used to California)
The idea that we should treaty people as probably guilty of something is bothersome
And that's what drug testing does
It begins with the assumption of guilt

And no, I don't support drug testing pilots either.

14. What are you trying to prove? That drug testing already exists?

I am well aware of that. Does that mean we should increase it? I don't think so. In fact, I would repeal the testing of pilots, if it were up to me.

I simply stated that I voted against prop 46 for that reason. If you want me to vote to lift caps get a prop without added mandates in it.

17. Thank God you are not in charge..

Iím a health professional.. You wanna know how many pilots are in rehab? Both for excessive use of Alcohol and Drugs.. When I put my life into someoneís hands I like to know that they are not hindered by alcohol or dugs,,

But I do agree with you that this proposition was all about the Malpractice Suits.. Iím surprised that the testing was even in it.. Although If I had a loved one going under the knife it would be comforting to know that the Drs. have protocol with testing..

21. The correct answer is to stop putting so much pressure

on those occupations that they turn to drugs in higher numbers to begin with.

Anybody at any job that doesn't appear sober should be dealt with by their administrations not the ballot.

23. Ah come on... Most people become addicted to drugs or alcohol

way before they begin their professional career.. And believe me most professionals whoíe jobs are on the line know how to feign being sober..Itís the little stuff that gets them.. And little stuff when you are a pilot ainít so little...

24. I hardly think that most people high on drugs can get through medical school.

Feign being sober? Then they must not be too high, huh?

You will never convince me to vote against an entire occupation's right to privacy so you can stop trying.

25. Obviously you know little about addiction..

There are special diversion programs specifically dedicated to addicted MDs and Pilots...

The term ďDiversionĒ is bullshit in my mind.. A fancy term for treatment facility or Rehab...

There are hundreds of these programs all over the country,,
