I guess it's because she is a Clinton and has a vagina. Not really sure what the problem is, I loved Clinton and I happen to appreciate vaginas but I guess for some both are bad. Is Clinton the most liberal Democrat to ever walk the face of the earth? Hell no she is not, but she is not much further right of our current President and things are starting to turn around for the county minus the very minor midterm hiccup.
Now if you want me to vote for someone other than Clinton you need to convince Warren to run but last time I heard that was not going to happen. Right now I have not seen another candidate who holds a candle to Clinton and if you want to bitch and complain about that then you better get your candidate to start convincing me they are the better option.

(2,273 posts)I keep hearing you say she will keep you from voting but you have not said who you would prefer. Yeah I would like for Jesus Christ to run under his heal the sick, feed the hungry, take care of the poor, love everyone campaign for President but we are stuck with real people and not make believe what I would want candidates.

(11,441 posts)Good one.
You better start focusing on January 2015 through January 2017 -- it's going to be a bumpy ride.

(19,460 posts)Never say on DU that you are a Clinton supporter lest you be called a Clintonista, a 3rd wayer, a Republican lite, not a real Democrat and a whole host of other stupid memes that can be found only on DU. Just remember that DU represents about .000000000000001% of this country's Dems.

(2,273 posts)Seems there are those who have the belief that there is this magical Democrat out there who will beam themselves down to earth and lead us to the promise land. Not sure who this person is but it's obviously the person who has no name and is not Clinton.

(2,273 posts)So basically I am better off putting my hopes on Buddha running than her. Clinton has her hat in the game, Clinton has said she will run. Warren is the better option but Warren is not going to run so for me to complain about Clinton because I like Warren better is illogical.

Is this OP a JOKE?
The ONLY reason I am kicking it is to let people see for themselves the strategy that was used to GOTV!
Insult the people you need to win an election.
Make sure to accuse of them of everything from Sexism to Racism if they dare to point out some FACTS about a candidate they do not believe represents them.
I can't think of a more failed tactic, it's almost as if someone is working HARD to suppress the vote.
If you want a woman for president, there are PLENTY of Dem Women who are way more suitable to lead a party that supposedly represents the Working Class. To push someone the voters, and please don't bother with the polls which do NOT represent the demographics that are needed to GET elected, have stated they do not want, is arrogance beyond belief.
My choice for a female Presidential Candidate is a true Progressive Democrat, one who never wavered when the rest of DC was falling all over themselves to support Bush/Cheney.
Her name is Barbara Lee. THAT would be someone I could get enthusiastic about.
But you did say VAGINA several times. I guess that is supposed be cool or something.

(23,156 posts)to how hated she is outside of a relatively small part of the Democratic Party. All of the polls that seem to show she would win in 2016 are basically name recognition polls, and are not remotely indicative of what things would be like once real campaigning stops.
Don't think for a minute that any single thing that can be thrown against her, whether deserved or not, whether fair or not, will be thrown.
More to the point, she comes with a lot of baggage, and is hardly a genuine liberal or progressive. Maybe she was once, but not for a long time. She's been a long way from even the upper middle classes at least since Bill was elected in 1992. Twenty-two years ago now. And ever since they left the White House, she's lived a life of privilege and luxury and puts here squarely in the 1%. It shows in many of the tone-deaf sorts of comments she makes.
To keep on hyping, "Only Hillary can win, only Hillary can win" is to not take a close look at the world as it is today, who the voters really are, all across the political spectrum.

(3,580 posts)so far she's the only one who looks like they're running. Or Cuomo? I'm not voting for him. Who else? If someone better than hillary runs for the nomination but so far I'll have to wait and see. There are several dem women I would vote for but it doesn't look like they're running.

(13,616 posts)is that way before the mid terms, indeed, in stead of focusing on the mid terms, many people here were trying to promote the inevitable Hillary meme, precisely to ensure that no one else would enter the field. They remember how Obama smashed the inevitability meme, and thye want to send a message that if anybody thinks about it, they will be crushed.

(36 posts)Bernie Sanders (although not a Democrat), Elizabeth Warren (already addressed), Russ Feingold, Ron Wyden, Kirsten Gillibrand (from NY, so wont happen with HRC in race), Amy Klobuchar, Martin O'Malley, Martin Heinrich, Jeff Merkley, Alan Grayson, Barbara Lee (the ONLY congress member to vote against Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Terrorists Act in 2001 from whence SO much evil has sprung, even Ron Paul voted for it).
All in no particular order. Sanders is the closest to my ideals. Sherrod Brown, Elizabeth Warren, Marcy Kaptur and Pete DeFazio next.
Hillary would be pretty far right here in Sweden. She is a corporatist and war monger. She has huge negatives with so many groups. She will not win, and will hurt Democrats down-ticket, as the right-wing loons will chew off their own legs (they do anyway bt voting against their class) to vote against Clinton.
2016 is looking like a rough ride for the world.

I will never vote for or against someone because of which set of genitalia they have.
I will never vote for or against someone for which sex they prefer.
I will never vote for or against someone because of the hue of their outer covering.
I will never vote for or against someone due to the financial circumstances of their birth.
I will never vote for or against someone based on their family name.
I will vote based on policies candidates have.
I will vote on the past alliances of candidates, as they are indicators of possible hidden agendas.
I will vote based on the historical record of their participation in legislation.
I will vote against ALEC

(17,493 posts)has nothing to do with her lack of charisma.
She was supposed to win in 2008 but lost the Democratic primary to a basically unknown senator who had a message that resonated with the voters.
Of course it might be possible that the Republicans will nominate another loser as they did in the last two presidential elections. If so, Hillary will win if the economy is improving at the time of the election.
And if she wins, she might be a good president. Winning a political campaign is one thing, but having the leadership ability to run this nation is another.

(65,616 posts)From the replies in HRC threads, I think most people here believe she is a shoe in. Nobody sees a viable GOP candidate or primary challenger on the horizon.
They gonna reheat McSame? RMoney? 3 Questions Perry? 2 if you actually count how many he remembered?
And it has nothing to do with me wanting to vote for her or not, I am a yellowdog dem. Just reading the news and watching peoples reactions.

Hard to forget that. And hard to vote for someone that was too stupid (or had ulterior motives) to realize it.
I use to like her but that vote did it for me. Would love to have a woman in office but only if she will truly represent what I believe.
If Clinton is the nominee, I will most likely support her but I won't be happy about it.

I can't speak for everyone who dislikes her, but here are some of my LEGITIMATE REASONS:
-She is a warhawk who voted to go to war with Iraq
-She is a corporatist Democrat that will beholden to the banks
-Several of the policies her husband signed sold the 99% down the river (the repeal of Glass-Steagall, Telecommunications Deregulation, The Freedom Restoration Act).
If you don't like those reason, go pound sand!
