I'll vote for the Dem nominee in 2016. Period.

Last edited Fri Nov 14, 2014, 11:06 AM - Edit history (1)

I just don't think it should be Hillary, that's all. Not trying to start anything. Just one man's view. Simple.

2. Take a long look at what we are up against now.....

what we are trying to prevent this next election.....I'm talking reality....big picture....

then tell me again how you want to sideline the ONLY candidate we have with a record to show that they can beat ANY Republican.....and or including a Bush!

When you have a candidate that can compete with THAT....let me know!

You may as well add in Adolf Hitler, Genghis Khan and Vladamir Putin for all it's worth.

Are you saying Kucinich = Hitler? The op said he would hold his nose and vote for Hillary, will you do the same for Kucinich or should we start screaming at you for not upholding the honor of voting no matter what?

15. Yes, that is exactly what I'm saying

of course Kucinich is Hitler, you could probably roll Pol Pot and Slobodan Milošević in there as well his evil is so great. In fact Dennis Kucinich is the sole and only reason we lost the 2014 midterms and why it was so cold last winter.

because some dumbbell is going to think I'm serious.

What I'm saying is that a true test would probably at least consist of people that have a shot of actually winning or at least running for the damned job.

I will vote for him over any Republican piece of shit they manage to offer!

Anybody that would stay at home and not vote because they're whining about the wrong candidate can go fuck themselves with a rusty pipe. I will criticize the shit out of them and mock them as everything falls apart around them due to their idiotic decision to stay home.

The primary will be vigorous and lively and people will fiercely defend their candidates but I think we will be behind our nominee.

As I said before I supported Hillary in 2008 and hated the puma people and hate puma ideas now.

4. Can Bernie sanders really win nationally?

That is a question that will have to be looked at seriously especially if Rubio or Bush are nominated. I think both will make speeches and commercials in Spanish. Young up and comers who can (maybe) relate to some of the young. I don't know. Bernie certainly would be great for the country, but would need to be elected first.

there will never be a candidate that will excite or even keep the anger down for everybody. The only thing to do is try and promote the candidate you support and get them through the primary process.

Then you've got to get to work and convince people to actually hold their nose and vote for that person no matter who it is.

26. "Voting" is nothing. Question is....

.... are you going to go all out for her ( or him)?

I mean $$$. Volunteer. Getting low-info or no-info friends to vote for the nominee. Be a fanatic.

I'll vote for the nominee. (Probably.) It remains to be seen whether the party ( or the nominee) can motivate me to to more than that.

And no. It really IS up to them.

And frankly, I very much doubt that Clinton is up to that particular task.

I do hope the party will look elsewhere.

27. Nope

It's not that I want a pony. It's not that I demand purity. It's not that I insist on 100% agreement with all candidates or nominees.

But I'm flat out done enabling the Democratic party's rightward drift. I will always vote, but I've cast my last "Straight Dem ballot regardless of candidate".

I'm partly to blame for this mess by having done so for almost 30 years now. The party knows they can do any thing they fucking want and folks like me will still pull the lever for them simply because the other guy is worse. I'm done with that thinking.

And please spare me the lectures. I've given those lectures myself over the years. I know every word and every in and out of those lectures. But it's done. I'm done.

Just don't like her. Luckily, I live in CT. Based on recent trends, the DEM nominee will win my state, so I am free to vote for someone else if Hillary wins the nomination.

I wouldn't care if Hillary won the presidency. If that's what the American people decide, I would be fine with it. I just won't be voting for her.

45. No more corporatists and warmongers. Just back up for a minute.

Forget the posts about the general election. Nothing....NOTHING...is more important now than making sure we aren't force-fed a corporate viper as the Democratic nominee.

IMO *that's* the goal for the corporate Third Way. Once they've ensured that, they need not give a rat's ass which party actually wins, because the corporate agenda is ensured either way.

In fact, I suspect that corporatists on both sides want Hillary to run so that we *will* have a Republican next time, because Americans are getting too wise to the fact that all these corporate politicians in both parties are actually fighting for the same agenda.

That's what oligarchy means.

Putting a Republican in next time will help the credibility-strained propaganda machine. All the Third Way corporate shills and propagandists will be able to put on their liberal costumes again and pretend to wail alongside the rest of us as the last vestiges of the democratic nation we once knew are drowned in the toilet, this time by Republicans. Of course, all that "opposition" will be carefully and mysteriously futile in terms of policy.

But the important thing is that Dems will be consistently SAYING the right things again, and looking like the firebrand populist party we need them to be.

And the people will be reassured that we really do still have a democracy, we can stop all this silly talk about oligarchy and needing fundamental change and such, and we can all go home and watch "Hunger Games" and grouse because our only problem will be that Republicans are in office for a little while and we need to get them out and the Third Way Democrats back in.
