Let's talk instead about why a President's children should not be fair game. Do you remember Rush Limbaugh and what he said about Chelsea Clinton when she was a teenager in the White House?

Now, we're comparing apples to apples.

Racism can be broadly defined as a phenomenon that maintains or exacerbates avoidable and unfair inequalities in power, resources, or opportunities across racial, ethnic, cultural, or religious groups in society. Racism can be expressed through beliefs (e.g., negative and inaccurate stereotypes), emotions (e.g., fear or hatred), or behaviors/practices (e.g., unfair treatment) (Berman & Paradies, 2010).

The former requires cultural/institutional power; whereas, the latter just requires hate.

If the mainstream media, restrained until now, has leapt on this story, the twins have largely themselves to blame. Jenna drew attention in February when she sent her Secret Service detail to a Tarrant County, Texas, jail to collect her drunken pal William Ashe Bridges, 18. In April she was cited for having a beer at an Austin bar; when she showed up May 16 in community court, she wore a black tank top, pink capri pants and a toe ring to plead no contest to the misdemeanor. She paid $51.25 in court costs, fulfilled eight hours of community service by doing clerical and research work for Austin's Mexic-Arte Museum and will have to attend six hours of alcohol-awareness classes.

Though Barbara has never had trouble with the law before, Bill Coale, a former cop who works security at Toad's Place, a bar near Yale in New Haven, says that last October Barbara tried to slip past him with a fake ID. He remembers that she was "very argumentative, but she was polite," as she unsuccessfully demanded that he return it.

Fake IDs? Pink pedal pushers and toe rings...in court? IOKIYAR!!!!

Sun Nov 30, 2014, 01:23 AM

One was using someone's ID and the other was drinking while underage.

I have a problem with knowing that Secret Service basically had to watch them commit crimes, and, according to the law of the land, they were crimes. They were not allowed to stop it from happening. Any other kid that age would never have been able to get that far.

When they were arrested it became public knowledge, same as any other MIP. The one who used someone's ID is lucky she wasn't in my state because that would have been a felony charge. I worked for a police department as a dispatcher and then in warrant entry. I remember entering felony warrants for just that reason.

The First Daughter's as in Sasha and Malia have behaved beautifully unlike the Bush twins who had not. Obviously this young woman has not done her research.

``Jenna getting drunk a lot while in Austin, TX
``Bush twins in Argentina to celebrate their 25th birthday and became so rowdy the SS could not control them. Jenna Bush, the drinker, just like her daddy Georgie Bush, had followed in her daddy's shoes. Bush twins gave the SS such a bad time they could not control the two. The country of Argentina asked the Bush daughters to leave the country. These are just a few of their many drunken brawl antics.

After allis said and done, Miss Jenna has been rewarded a high paying job with "Good Morning America." Also, Jenna is one of the editors of Southern Living Magazine. Nice gigs to say the least!

For some it pays to act like an Arse first then one is rewarded.

Meanwhile -- want to see some Presidential daughters in action? How about Jenna and Barbara Bush falling down drunk; Jenna busted for using fake ID to buy beer; Jenna falling down drunk, puking, in a skank DC bar; and on and on and on.

Elizabeth Lauten is the one on the left in this photo -- in the iridescent blue WalMart dress.

kind of stupid to attack this woman's looks when that is exactly what we are criticizing her for doing, never mind the fat shaming.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Sat Nov 29, 2014, 07:41 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Pot, meet Kettle.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I give this a little more leeway, since it is in essence pointing out the hypocrisy of this woman commenting about anyone's looks/fashion sense.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: What goes around etc and if the lady didn't want her looks criticized online she shouldn't have made that criticism online. Unless she's a member of DU I don't see any great harm.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Leave it alone. Elizabeth Lauten can go to fucking hell. If you make snide comments about someone, you are FUCKING game. Stop wasting our time with these fucking alerts.
