I mean sure you can't aim and it possibly makes the gun more likely to jam, but looking cool is priceless.

That's probably a good thing! And there seems to be a child on the pavement, with the adult who is being assaulted shielding the child with his body.

Intent to shoot is at least exhibited. Even a 12 year old hunter knows, only point to shoot.

and while it is harder to be sure in this case -- I think his finger is on the front of the trigger guard, not on the trigger itself.

Of course, he may have put his finger on the trigger at some time. And he is pointing the weapon.

Maybe earlier. You always knew who the undercover cops were at the protest planning meeting. They were the ones with the most violent ideas.

but if there was a "blue on blue" shooting but they'll just charge every protesters in the vicinity with murder or some bullshit charge like that and the media would go on full North Korea mode about how tragic it was and what a big hero the officer was and blah blah blah.

that really threatens the establishment is met with this type of sh*t.
I'm sure cop provocateurs were doing this in Oakland during the Occupy protests as well.
Until this tactic is fully exposed it will be very hard to effect real change.
