i believe the war on poverty has been a disaster since it's inception not because of it's chosen intent but by it's methodology and implementation. i believe social class isn't as closely connected to skin color in the united states as it is to various status symbols and personal bearing.

simply because of my Latin heritage & growing up in an all black/Hispanic neighborhood. The 1st time i looked down the barrel of a cops gun I was barely a teen. We were sitting in a park, just sitting less than a block from our house. This is not a new phenomenon.
