2. Fashion Statement Panic

This kind of reminds me of gang bandanas and black overcoats. For now policing fashion statements mainly applies to male clothing, but it may apply to religious clothing such as the hijab in the future. If you think about it, this is a way of limiting free speech without any vocalizations being involved.

In each case the piece of clothing involved is also a symbol. That symbol involves identity, and that identity may entail resistance, rebellion, or conformity to an alternative code to the "norm". Fashion can be a refusal where a vocalization is not allowed. I think America should be paying attention to these stealthy strikes against free speech.

Wearing a hoodie right now.

... and frequently wear them too! Maybe we are who "they" are afraid of (us and the 80 year olds in their little velour track suits).

This is so asinine!

And I have been known to wear them! And what about my coats that have hoods?

I suppose these are the same kind of people who tried to outlaw zoot suits decades ago.

Even so, next time I'm in Oklahoma, I'll be sure to wear a hoodie.

Thank the Good Lord I've managed to avoid expensive suits and ties, and even shaving, for decades now.

The 7-11 near me has a sign up for people to remove. But not allowed to wear one at all in the state? Ridiculous. I use my hoodie a lot when it's raining.

19. What about prescription shades?

People who can function without glasses never think about that. I cannot function without my glasses and prescription shades are one of the great inventions of the 20th century for driving.

Oh and I wear pastel hoodies too when it's cold. No need for a separate hat.
