to have become their own faction of the teabagger brigade. Hopefully this will be a major component of their undoing.

What a disgrace.

then the Mayor's free speech rights are part of that law.

They can respect him without agreeing with him.

with their policy of making no unnecessary arrests, and, by extension, no unnecessary use of force, I could give a fuck what they do. Hopefully they will render themselves useless eventually.

a wealth extraction scheme set up by politicians to evade levying taxes to fund government.

The cops are in their tantrums also rolling on their bosses and it shouldn't be ignored what this tells us about the whole setup from the big picture.
The cops may well be pigs but they are also very likely pushed pretty hard by politicians and their operatives to squeeze and shake money loose from those who either won't make too much noise and/or nobody will listen to them if they do cry foul.

I would have stopped and said something subtle but very poignant for the media to pick up on to show how petty they were...

such as, when they turned away from me, I would have said something like "Come on guys, this isn't the time for this. we are all here to honor Office Liu." Then I would have just shook my head and carried on with my speech.

respect for the grieving family.

Then the headlines would be: Mayor pleads with NYPD not to turn backs on fallen officer!

They would spend the next year trying to deny that is what they were doing, spluttering and babbling and ON THE DEFENSIVE which is where they belong.
