There is a certain mindset here, of some, that leaving bigoted crap like this is progressive - NO IT IS NOT. Or it's better to leave it for all to see. Problem with the latter is a bigot gets to stay here verbally assaulting others. I think that is pretty screwed up.

(11,804 posts)I do tend to come down on the side of discussion rather than hiding though. I guess my thought process goes like this - if it's a clear attack based on bigotry (as in this example) than it should be hidden. If it's just something stupid, than does there seem to be malice behind it? If it feels malicious - looking at other comments, than hide it. But if I'm not sure if it's malicious or not, than leave it so that it can be discussed and hopefully the poster can learn something.
I rarely excuse myself from juries unless I know the person and have had run ins with them.
