check out this wind map, you can see the ice cold pouring down from the Deep Freezer

take about 5 seconds to load.

All that white movement is 30 mph or faster

Since it is still so cold in the South, there is not comfort in the wind coming up from here.

Our wind, down by the Gulf, is coming from the east but then heading up to you.
And notice how the Miss. valley gets both streams.

the low in SW Ala. was 16, and in No. Ala it was...3.
