if I write that I'm pretty sure I'm going to die before him, so I'd rather he keep his balls while I'm around? I rather like the effects.

and many friends I grew up with and I'm only 51. I've lived a strangely charmed life as far as health is concerned. I smoke cigarettes and weed plus I drink 24 ounce craft beers like they are going to stop making them soon. I eat whatever I want and never go to the doctor. So if I feel my blood is a little thick I will take a half an aspirin.

I think what's keeping me alive is the constant struggle economically. I walk to work and have an enormous garden I care for. So after some weed and craft beers, I'll walk to work and be on my feet all night running for customers, then, in the morning I go to a more strenuous job cutting and installing headstones. I'll come home to my hovel, really just a desperately held rectangle, and say hello to my wife of 30 years. She will tell me all our problems with our grown children and show me the bills she fished out of the trash I tried to throw away. Wash, rinse, repeat.

The main thing being that we are always in so much financial trouble that it would be really inconvenient for me to die, thus it won't happen. Mind over matter.

He was having some health issues as he aged. I had bred him twice since he was a full-blooded Cocker spaniel with a good disposition, so I had not had him neutered.

When he got to be 9 or 10, the vet suggested we neuter him for that very reason. He lived to be 15. I guess in dog years, five years is about like two decades.

I help out and stay with my 91 yo grandma some, it seems kind if depressing to live too long. She and all her friends are constantly at medical appointments, falling, or fading mentally. Many are bored at that age as well because they are limited physically and mentally.

I'd rather die sooner than get Alzheimer's or dementia as well, there some things worse than death.

I'm a trans woman who has had an orchiectomy and it's fine. Everything still works. Just no getting anyone pregnant.

I'd be all for having more years in my 20s, but probably not so fond of more years in my 90s.

I'm sure I'll change my tune when I'm *in* my 90s.

(ps - I'm not a guy, so I'm not commenting on the trade-off in the OP)

Sperm is so passe. We can use stem cells to fertilize eggs.

And men could still have sex without their balls. Sex with no fear of pregnancy, too.

Neutered male dogs are generally happy and affectionate. Wouldn't it be swell to have neutered male humans the same way?

is said to be (I'm sure I'll be corrected) a host for cancer of the prostate and that in past times castration was a treatment and that in "modern" days hormone treatment (female hormone) is the way to offset the testosterone. Hot flashes.
