Paris Grand Synagogue Didn't Hold Shabbat Services For The First Time Since Nazis Occupied France

The Grand Synagogue of Paris did not host Shabbat services and closed Friday for security reasons, the first time that's happened since World War II.

The Synagogue, the largest place of worship for those of the Jewish faith in Paris, was closed Friday amid the ongoing efforts by French authorities to hunt down the suspects involved in terrorist attacks around the city. The attacks started with shootings of staff of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

On Friday France 2 published exclusive video footage of French police raiding a Parisian kosher market to free hostages held by a suspect who was reportedly connected to the attackers of the Charlie Hebdo staff. The raid resulted in a dead suspect.
