Every now and then, we come across a special dog who needs a little extra help finding a home. This week, were focusing our Adoption Spotlight on Rocco, a sweet 10-year-old boy who is ready to find his forever family.
Rocco came to the ASPCA in October after his guardian became too ill to care for him. Staff at the ASPCA Animal Hospital promptly updated the sweet dogs vaccines, performed neuter surgery and placed him into foster care to await adoption. Though this special pup is happily residing with his foster family, he cant wait to join a loving forever home!
Rocco is an affectionate pooch who is a love bug at heart. This big guy is fan of naps, and theres nothing he would love more than to curl up by your side on the couch. Rocco also enjoys belly rubs and his favorite squeaky toys. He can even give high fives! Dont let his age fool youRocco loves to walk and would make a great companion on your outings around the city.

(99,069 posts)He had never been in a house. So everything was new to him like a puppy. He loved the kitchen right away.
He certainly loved us.
His last three years were his best and happy years!
Bear was older but had lived in a home before we got him.

(9,426 posts)I will never understand people who keep their dogs outside. Dogs are FAMILY as far as I am concerned. We adopted a dog that had been chained outside for 2 years. Sweetest Rottwiler/Shepherd mix ever. He was a happy guy. Took a while for our female to accept him, but it eventually happened, and they slept together fianlly. Glad we made 7 years happy for him. He developed bone cancer, and had to be put to sleep. Sad, sad day. Great dog, the original owners had no idea what they gave away.

What a cutie!! He looks like he is saying "Finally" I love mixed breeds, they seem to get the best traits of every breed in them. He is a handsome guy.
