and that story went really soft on old Bob Jones. The damage he did was to give a loud voice to the human rubbish that is now electing Republicans to the state lege and ruining a decent state.

I left shortly after he'd disgraced himself by following every other mobster in history by taking the Fifth Amendment. At the time, it looked like there were several ready successors willing and able to take over where he left off. Instead, they all went into politics or preaching to better maximize the damage to the state.

The only nice thing I can say about Grand Wizard Jones is that he was marginally better than D. C. Stephenson was in Indiana. Marginally.

The story on Putin was almost a relief after that, he's only interested in money and power and trying to hang onto the latter via glorious conquest. Unfortunately, Crimea was easy enough to take but it's going to be pure hell to hold. The sad part is that Russia would likely give them the better government over the Ukrainian fascists.

This was an excellent expose of the Russian Oligarchy and it’s relationship with Putin..
It’s frightening to realize that this guy is nothing but a 2 bit criminal who has enriched himself to the tune of billions and will do anything to protect himself.. He has now forced the Country to allow him 2 more six year terms as President and realizes that when he does step down, he will have to face all sorts of charges of corruption and possibly crimes against humanity..And believe me after watching this doc., I think this nut would sooner bring down the planet as we know it, rather than face the music..
He is fucking nuts...Look at his eyes...He’s possesses a frightening frame...

Banana Republics will look like a self-governing wet fucking dream if this is the governance model that Russia adopts for itself long-term...
...I wonder if there's a way to subtitle this doc in cyrillic (sp?), and upload it to the Russian version on youtube..if I lived there, I sure as HELL would want to know this kind of shit...

that the average Russian is poorer than the average Indian. India has huge overpopulation and a long history of a pernicious caste system keeping people mired in unspeakable poverty from birth. I wonder if they're averaging the wealth of the plutocrats in both countries to come up with per capita wealth, that could account for that dismal statistic.

Plutocrats in Russia have hidden their wealth away. They're out in the open in India. That might account for the difference.

One truly salient point was made, that Putin is terrified of losing power because he knows no one will succeed him who will protect him. That means either he'll flee the country the night someone else is sworn in or he'll have to leave office feet first. I say the odds are even.

Or if you lined everyone up in a long line in order of wealth, it's the wealth of the person in the exact middle of the line. So the ultra-rich, very few in number, hardly affect the median statistic at all (unlike the average)

That's my prediction. Never a mention of his family. Only a quick disheveled photo of him sitting on his Mother's lap. Didn't he and his wife divorce?
