Here's Betty White...just because she always makes me smile.

Happy 93rd Betty!

Betty White turned 93 on Saturday – with a little help from a flash mob!

As if you needed another reason to love the legendary actress, who just won the TV icon award at the People's Choice Awards (and was escorted onstage by Chris Evans), White's big birthday surprise will put an even bigger smile on your face.

The Hot in Cleveland star – who is greeted on set every day with a special hula dance from her assistant – was welcomed to work on Friday with a massive hula-dancing flash mob featuring people sporting grass skirts and Hawaiian leis.

I was very happy, too, to see the spirit of Sue Ann Nivens return for Hot in Cleveland. My 19 YO grandson loves Betty just as much as I do.

Ms. White did something in 2005, and nobody knew for years. She hired a cargo plane to get 19 penguins and two sea otters out of New Orleans and to wonderful MontereyBay Aquarium. Cost? $83.00.. This was after Katrina. She wanted nobody to know. I was deeply involved, and didn't know for 3 yearsin. . She. wanted nobody to know... She got away for all theses years. My bet friend -

She grips every day of her life. We have a 93 year young turning 94 in March. She laughs, still can sit down on the floor and get up without help, she keeps the rest of our group young.

I remember what television was only on for part of the day and there was a silly program that lasted 15 minutes called "Life With Elizabeth" starring a wacky but utterly charming young lady named Betty White. She has not changed a bit in all these years and we are lucky to have spend much of our lives being entertained by her.

She has made us laugh for a long, long time, she is a living legend.

I wish we knew what it is that enables people like her to be mobile and alert at those kind of ages. Even more remarkable was the late Queen Mother in Britain. She died at 101 I believe, but until the last few months she was still bopping around with her daughter - and she smoked heavily and drank a ton.

Part of it of course is they are women. One indisputable advantage we have over men is our longevity.
