Your point BEING? Ted Cruz frets that if Romney runs, voters will stay home & "Dems will win again"

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Sen. Ted Cruz urged archconservatives on Sunday to help nominate a Republican from their own ranks in 2016 or risk losing a third consecutive national election. The unspoken message: someone like him.

Cruz called GOP nominees like Mitt Romney in 2012, John McCain in 2008 and Bob Dole in 1996 "good, honorable and decent men" but not conservative enough. All lost their bids for the presidency.

"If we nominate a candidate in that mold, the same people who stayed home in 2008 and 2012 will stay home in 2016 and the Democrats will win again," Cruz told hundreds of activists at the South Carolina Tea Party Coalition Convention.

South Carolina will cast the South's first primary ballots in 2016, shortly after the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary.

"Anybody But Hillary."

Makes me think of the Simpsons episode where Homer thinks he's going to get the employee of the month award because he is the only employee left who HASN'T gotten it, and they give it to an inanimate carbon rod instead. Bonus points for Bart asking with a sense of wonder "Did you actually get to SEE the rod?" (that part, unfortunately, didn't make it into the YouTube clip below).

It's not so much that your base stayed home those years, Ted--you're just outnumbered and only win when the other side's turnout is low. RW-nuts are as reliable as ever to show up to vote. It's easy to motivate them; all you've had to do each election is whip out the black/poor/gay/foreign/feminist boogeymen.

A GOP Klan meeting called by any other name is still just another GOP Klan meeting.
Any people of color at that meeting?
Nope, of course not!

Cruz reminds me of George Wallace from back in 1968 so much it isn't even funny.
So, now he is saying that Bob Dole wasn't conservative enough.
Really?
Why, just because he lost the Presidential election?
Or that John McCain wasn't conservative enough, just because he lost the Presidential election?
Or Mitt Romney?

Gimme a freakin' break!!
Dole was on the leading edge of conservative thought at the time, McCain went even farther to the right, and Mitt went so far to the right that he jumped clear off of the edge of the planet with his insane "47%" bullshit rhetoric!!

It's obvious that Cruz hates America.
He doesn't like anything about it.
He wants to transform it into his dictatorial idea of Kruz's Konservative Kontrol Society, where only rich, old, white men have positions of power at all levels of government!

That splits the "sane" Republican vote and allows a lunatic like Cruz to step in. The opposite of what's been happening lately.

And that's scary. When they run loons they win.
