http://www.addictinginfo.org/2015/01/19/doug-ducey-seeks-to-gut-funding/I wanted to give Arizonas new governor a chance. I wasnt going to be like the Republicans, who hoped President Obama would fail even before he became president. However, the Governors first budget proposal has me feeling extremely uneasy.
Unveiled on Friday, the states $1.5 billion shortfall (left from the fiscally conservative Jan Brewer) will be paid for by clawing into the rainy day fund with a collection of spending cuts totaling $384 million, and gobbling up over $300 million from agency accounts....
Ah, yes, cutting from education in one of the worst states for education while giving millions to private prisons is the reality of spending discipline. Ducey also claimed that this budget focuses on classrooms first. Yes, because cheating teachers and schools out of $257 million year really demonstrates a focus on the classrooms.
Arizonas Senate Minority Leader Katie Hobbs tore into the governors budget proposal, saying, And while his budget takes from our schools and universities, forcing tuition raises on Arizonas middle class, it gives away more than $100 million to private prisons. Is this what Gov. Ducey meant when he closed his State of the State address by saying, Lets give our best for Arizona?

Ah yes, the "rainy day fund". Just like the one that Jerry Brown (D-In The '70s, Anyway) just got set up here in CA through Prop 2.
Oh, they left out the 'n' in 'Duncey'.

I feel for the Dem's in that state, but I hope this makes some GOPer's into Dem's next time.
