Mitt Romney’s running mate is pushing back on criticism that the 2012 GOP presidential nominee can be an effective spokesman against poverty.

“I know who Mitt Romney is. I know what’s in his heart. I know what he really feels and believes — in the man, in the family,” said Rep. Paul Ryan, during an interview Wednesday on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

“And this is a man who is deeply concerned about those who are less fortunate,” Ryan continued. “This is a guy who really does want to see everybody in this country reach their potential.”

Romney, who is considering a third White House bid, hinted that he would make fighting poverty a central tenet of a 2016 campaign. In remarks to the Republican National Committee, Romney noted income inequality has gotten worse under President Obama and said “Republican principles” would “break the cycle of poverty.”

Ryan's gym photos also remind me of Jamie Kennedy as a white rapper in 'Malibu's Most Wanted' ...
