Confirmed chickenpox case at Douglas County jail (measles at the Children's Museum too)

Now we have chickenpox & measles in town at the same time.

Staff reports

Officials on Friday confirmed a case of Chickenpox at the Douglas County jail.

Authorities said that individual has been isolated and is being closely monitored. Medical and custody staff are taking appropriate action to ensure this illness does not spread.

Get chicken pox even after taking the varicella series, although it's a milder form of the disease. It's frustrating for parents to see their kids get sick when they've done the right thing.

Are you sure? Last time I went to my doctor, he said he wasn't allowed to give it.

There are two options, one is a combo MMRV called Proquad, and the other, Varivax, which is just varicella (chickenpox).
