Serious ponder about the core of Palin's behavioral issues

Is it psychological, pathological or pharmaceutical?

Putting aside the malapropos filled 'word salad', her speech pattern/cadence is bizarre. Every speech she gives leaves her sounding manically breathless with inappropriate excitement. It was moderately evident during the 2008 campaign and has grown, exponentially, ever since.

It is so hard to watch her, now, because she's starting to turn into an out of control, babbling spectacle and I wonder if she is now just plain out of control, due to something she's doing to herself, or something that is happening to her, from within.

It begs to ask if there isn't ANYBODY in her management group who notices this gob-smackingly strange behavior, or is she just too profitable of a gravy train, for them. If that's the case, my words of advice to them would be, watch out. That train is in the process of a total derailment.

Can't swear to the pharmaceutical but the other two? She's got history and evidence enough in public to support it. I think one reason it's so obvious now is that she doesn't have the containment of high level staff and is, in fact, "going rogue." Part of her problem is the delusion of competence. She doesn't realize that she looks bad, sounds bad and does things (like brawling in the street) that reveal a whole lot. She is clever enough to know a dog whistle when she sees one but she's not smart enough to realize that she could make a whole lot more money (her real goal is money and attention, not office) if she said the same thing with more intelligence.

As to staff, I think it IS a gravy train and with someone who is reported to be like Palin with staff, they're hanging on as long as possible and just cashing the checks.

My opinion, but I've got an educated one.

I do not disagree

The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias wherein unskilled individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than is accurate. This bias is attributed to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their ineptitude. Conversely, highly skilled individuals tend to underestimate their relative competence, erroneously assuming that tasks which are easy for them are also easy for others.

He was on the Dailey Show Jan. 15th, I cringed thru out the interview. At some Stewart must have realized he was wasting his questions on the mentally unarmed, and he backed off, it appeared.
Cruz was totally oblivious to how he came across. he even walked funny, with heavy clomping steps, like he was not in touch with his body.
He smiled inappropriately several times, and was plainly waiting for Stewart to stop talking so he could resume the points he wanted to make,
even if they had nothing to do with what Stewart was saying.
And again with the deer in the headlights expression.

Palin's speech is slightly different..she honestly seems to be on uppers. Pressured speech, jerky movements, plus her FEAR comes thru in waves.

Sun Jan 25, 2015, 01:19 PM
Jan 2015

Schizophrenia is a brain disorder that affects the way a person acts, thinks, and sees the world. People with schizophrenia have an altered perception of reality, often a significant loss of contact with reality. They may see or hear things that don’t exist, speak in strange or confusing ways, believe that others are trying to harm them, or feel like they’re being constantly watched. With such a blurred line between the real and the imaginary, schizophrenia makes it difficult—even frightening—to negotiate the activities of daily life. In response, people with schizophrenia may withdraw from the outside world or act out in confusion and fear.

http://www.helpguide.org/articles/schizophrenia/schizophrenia-signs-types-and-causes.htm

The most common early warning signs of schizophrenia include:

Social withdrawal
Hostility or suspiciousness
Deterioration of personal hygiene
Flat, expressionless gaze
Inability to cry or express joy
Inappropriate laughter or crying
Depression
Oversleeping or insomnia
Odd or irrational statements
Forgetful; unable to concentrate
Extreme reaction to criticism
Strange use of words or way of speaking

Wikipedia has a couple of articles on the subject of incoherent speech: derailment and schizophasia.

Now we might know why Palin has gone off the rails.

Antisocial Personality Disorder Symptoms
By PSYCH CENTRAL STAFF

Antisocial personality disorder is characterized by a long-standing pattern of a disregard for other people’s rights, often crossing the line and violating those rights. It usually begins in childhood or as a teen and continues into their adult lives.

Antisocial personality disorder is often referred to as psychopathy or sociopathy in popular culture. However, neither psychopathy nor sociopathy are recognized professional labels used for diagnosis.

Individuals with Antisocial Personality Disorder frequently lack empathy and tend to be callous, cynical, and contemptuous of the feelings, rights, and sufferings of others. They may have an inflated and arrogant self-appraisal (e.g., feel that ordinary work is beneath them or lack a realistic concern about their current problems or their future) and may be excessively opinionated, self-assured, or cocky. They may display a glib, superficial charm and can be quite voluble and verbally facile (e.g., using technical terms or jargon that might impress someone who is unfamiliar with the topic).

Lack of empathy, inflated self-appraisal, and superficial charm are features that have been commonly included in traditional conceptions of psychopathy and may be particularly distinguishing of Antisocial Personality Disorder in prison or forensic settings where criminal, delinquent, or aggressive acts are likely to be nonspecific. These individuals may also be irresponsible and exploitative in their sexual relationships.

A personality disorder is an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates from the norm of the individual’s culture. The pattern is seen in two or more of the following areas: cognition; affect; interpersonal functioning; or impulse control. The enduring pattern is inflexible and pervasive across a broad range of personal and social situations. It typically leads to significant distress or impairment in social, work or other areas of functioning. The pattern is stable and of long duration, and its onset can be traced back to early adulthood or adolescence.

60. I think she is a very stupid person and craves her former fame.

She remembers how some people loved her little one liners and so, in her stupidity and over-excitement, she spews them out.

During the 2008 she wasn't allowed to wander too far off the script. What you're seeing now is Palin unsupervised. Palin going full-on rogue.

Slightly different spelling - same Queen. Since Torties were considered sacred to the old Celts, it seemed the perfect name for her.

And, yes, you are right about Palin. The first clues as to her strange quirks surfaced when she first started the rogue behavior, during the 2008 campaign. I guess she never quite understood how that helped swing the election towards the Democrats.

Perfect name for her then.

In hope Palin runs and then gets the R nod and then our candidate will have her guts for garters.

I mean, really. Who the hell (other than maybe Huckabee) would want her endorsement?

I don't think she does drugs or has a disorder. I think she's just not very bright and can't think fast. When she goes off script, she gets very nervous in the way plenty of other nervous speakers do. Her brain is telling her to keep talking but she doesn't really hear what she is saying. During the debates, she would catch herself getting nervous so she would quickly jump to a rehearsed answer even when it did not answer the question she was asked.

She does indeed crave the fame she once had but I think even the repubs see her as a liability now.

It should be clear to almost everyone that she has run off the rails, but anyone who has the audacity to suggest that to her would be immediately deemed "the enemy."
Whatever her issue, I think it has a paranoia component that would make an intervention pretty difficult.....

It's sad, really. I don't like her, but nobody deserves to crash and burn the way she appears destined to do.
