Dropkick Murphys Order Scott Walker To Stop Using Their Music: ‘We Literally Hate You!’

Let's Go Murphys!

Punk rock and politics may have always shared a common unification, but that doesn’t mean bands like The Dropkick Murphys will allow their music to be used for just any political purpose, especially if that politician is Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.

When Scott recently took to the stage at the Iowa Freedom Summit to speak in front of many key members of the Republican party, he did so to the tune of Dropkick Murphy’s cover of the Woody Guthrie song “”I’m Shipping Up to Boston,” reported conservative news source Twitchy. Walker apparently didn’t realize that the Dropkick Murphys are assertively pro-union — an interest unlikely to find any common ground with the governor. Walker has become a national whipping boy for the anti-union cause, previously reported Inquisitr.

@DropkickMurphys
@ScottWalker @GovWalker please stop using our music in any way...we literally hate you !!! Love, Dropkick Murphys

Conservatives never seem to be able to use cool tunes, alas for them. Coolness itself seems to hate them.

I hope Walker gets whats coming to him....an embarrassing defeat that kicks him out of politics forever!!! He's the antithesis of what a politician should be. He does everything in his power to screw over every single person he can. What a waste of a life. I hope he becomes homeless someday and he just keeps getting kicked in the face and left to freeze in those harsh Wisconsin winters. He deserves nothing less.

Walker (and his media friends) love to play the victim. Stories about specific, graphic threats he supposedly received during the Madison protests are a central component in his stump speech.

Jackson Browne and others have had to sue politicians in the past to stop them. They should sue the slimebag.

Homophobe activist Anita Bryant once covered Phil Ochs' "The Power and the Glory". Apparently, she didn't quite get what the lyrics were saying, particularly the last verse of the song.

...they (unknowingly, I presume) played one of the songs from La Cage Aux Folles while everyone was up on stage at the end. It was hilarious. I've always wondered if there was a democratic mole behind that.
