(65,830 posts)Wasn't it Karl Rove who wouldn't believe it and stormed out of the TV studio? And Ann got all gussied up and put her hair up pretty. They actually thought they had the thing won!

(30,099 posts)Kind of explains his bitter passive aggressive remarks referencing Jeb recently.
A reflective Mitt Romney today blamed his loss in the presidential election last November to his inability to connect with minorities, the former Republican nominee admitting to Fox News Chris Wallace that it still kills him not to be in Washington.
We did very well with the majority population but not with the minority populations and that was a real failing, that was a mistake, said Romney, when asked why he believes he lost the White House last fall.

Have you noticed how Paul Ryan is obviously giving Mitt a cold shoulder. He looks really mad about it. I bet he wishes he had never accepted the VP nomination...spells "LOSER" for him in the future...

(22,651 posts)The horse is 17 years old, the plan was to 'retire' her at the trainers farm and breed her.
The now 18 year old mare should be having her foal this spring if the breeding took. probably didn't get pregnant because nothing is in the news.
That's not a real retirement for any horse. She is to aged (and injured!) to even have to be bred.

"As we learned and saw during his quest to secure the Republican nomination, Mitt Romney has a habit of doing two things he apparently hopes will ingratiate himself to voters. One is flat-out pandering. The other is waxing amazed at what he just saw or who he has just met as if he were a traveler in a strange and distant land for the first time. This latter trait is so disconcerting that when the former Massachusetts governor was making his way through the South in March, I made this pithy observation.
With regard to Mitt Romney, poor guy, the only second time hes had catfish ever and cheesy grits and a biscuit, its almost as if were watching Mitt Romney on safari in his own country."

(45,251 posts)Besides, the problem that Jeb Bush already has is that America has fatigue with the same names over and over. Romney would only add to it. The only thing more deja vu than "Bush for President" would be a Bush Romney ticket.
We'll see.

2banon
(7,321 posts)they'll persuade the nut job "base" to go along with good ole' teabagger rhetoric but it'll be a dog and pony show to turn out the base.. as per usual - and they'll have their media whores to play their roles in the game. For instance TPP - I'm not really sure - (haven't researched this point) but I intuit that the teabaggers for instance hates this just as much as progressives do. They maybe wacko stupid but they remember NAFTA too. So the PTB will manufacture a meme which will strongly resonate with the teabaggers - going with the bait and switch playbook. media will make sure they get away with it.

I guess he feels being a heartbeat away is better than being not in the picture at all? I confess I never thought of that reason specifically, but it's a great reason. And yeah, I think Jeb's gonna be the GOP nominee; really, everyone else belongs in an asylum.
