Charles Manson’s fiancée wanted to marry him for his corpse

The wedding of the century appears to be off;

Manson’s fiancée, 27-year-old Afton Elaine Burton, known as Star, sought to wed the convicted mastermind of the Sharon Tate murder and eight other slayings so that she could gain possession of his corpse, according to journalist Daniel Simone.

Burton and a pal, Craig Hammond, planned to lay out Manson’s remains in a glass crypt, Simone says. The pair figured their bizarre California version of Lenin’s Tomb would draw huge crowds and make big money.

But Manson, 80, does not want to marry Burton and has no interest in spending eternity displayed in a glass coffin, Simone told The Post. “He’s finally realized that he’s been played for a fool,” Simone said.

Another reason the madman balked at the plan is because he believes he is immortal. “He feels he will never die,” Simone said. “Therefore, he feels it’s a stupid idea to begin with.”

Every group of kids has one, the kid that's like everybodys fool that will do whatever some of his buddies say. Most of the time, it never amounts to any big trouble. Once in awhile though, get a kid like that with a real psychopath and there's no telling what might happen.

I'm hoping for an occasional professional shave, haircut, and manicure.

In Nelson DeMille's "Charm School," the relentless protagonist has a scene where he pumps Lenin's on-display body full of bullets while on the run from the KGB. I read it years ago, but I still remember that scene.

I remember going downtown with my mother past the court house where his followers maintained their vigil during the trial. They scared me then and I still get chills when I remember walking past them. I would actually walk out of the room during the news when they showed Charlie on the screen.
