(6,107 posts)Does holding one of these positions disqualify the candidate, or must they hold all?
And do you give a shit if we get president Walker and things are ten times worse, especially for those least capable of dealing with it?
Ramses
(721 posts)And if you think I or any other person is going to vote because "it can be worse", you are mistaken. That is an extremely poor persuasive argument. Things are getting worse EVERY DAY already, and its happening under a Democratic President. If we put up a candidate who will be more of the same garbage, millions will continue to slide into poverty, more wars. We cant afford that
HERVEPA
(6,107 posts)Because that is the result you'd get. And fuck the people who would be so much worse off with the Republican.
Ramses
(721 posts)I prefer the Democratic party not run republicans who have long infiltrated my party
The people who will get fucked are the 99% if we put up a candidate who is essentially a fucking republican. Is that clear enough for you?

(28,270 posts)Why pretend its about anyone in general then? Just come out and state it.
Good luck finding an as yet unknown candidate who walks on water and can win in 2016.
I prefer my politics to be reality based even if its not all rainbow pooping unicorns and all.
Ramses
(721 posts)rainbow pooping unicorns....you forgot my pony and leftist wand.
The reality is Hillary supports republican policies and ideals, and I DO NOT VOTE FOR REPUBLICANS, period.
So sorry for Hillary and her buddy Henry Kissinger, the WAR CRIMINAL

A candidate can be against every single one of those above positions, and I still may not vote for them.
Or they can be against every single one of those above above positions except one, and I still may vote for them.
All depends on the candidate.

(721 posts)If you settle with less worse, you will continue to get worse. If thats ok with you, thats on you.
Tens of millions simply wont vote between two different republicans is she is anointed. Tens of millions of Americans will continue to fall into poverty is Hillary is selected. Just like if Jeb or Cruz is selected. The 1% own the rigged electronic voing machines and really dont care which flavor of right wing republican is selected, Hillary or whoever. Wars will continue. The police state will continue. Millions more will continue into poverty, underemployment either way.
Its ALL good with the 1%$ if Hillary is selected for us.

(28,581 posts)In a perfect world we could all band together and make it all change. but it's not a perfect world and if I have to pick between Clinton and Walker I am going to choose Clinton.
Ramses
(721 posts)Clinton and Walker. Both support disaster Capitalism, wars, TPP, outsourcing, fracking, rigged voting, money in elections, etc etc.
Can you tell me the difference? Is it because Hillary doesnt hate gays as much? Or is not overtly racist?

(721 posts)a republican will win. Hillary SUPPORTS republican ideals and policies, so we will get a republican either way if Hillary is annointed. I prefer Sanders, and I hope he runs.
Bobbie Jo
(14,341 posts)But your framing is off, and you seem to be mistaking very slanted opinion for fact.
No, we won't get a republican either way. How ridiculous. (See...this is OPINION)
Vote or don't vote, your call. But don't get bent out of shape if the rest of us don't sit home and pout because our candidate didn't get a perfect score on some incomplete, strawman purity test.
btw....I hope Sanders runs too.

Ramses
(721 posts)You are saying you would support him because he calls himself a Democrat?
Let me quote you here " I will vote for the Democratic candidate. Period. No matter who he or she may be."
You would vote for ANYBODY regardless of their policies or positions because they call themselves the word Democrat?
Terra Alta
(5,158 posts)There is no way Dick Cheney is running as a Democrat. No way. And if he does, he won't get the nomination.
While I'd love to have someone progressive, I'll vote for a moderate Democrat over a far-right Repuke nutjob any day of the week.
Ramses
(721 posts)I dont see any moderate Democrats running. I see Sanders, who has not commited yet. He is progressive. I see Warren, who stated she is not running. I frankly dont trust her. And I see Hillary Clinton, who praises Henry Kissinger, supported the right wing coup in Honduras, and generally is to the right of most republicans on foreign policy. Hillary also shares the same republican values on the economy.

I dont support candidates who hold republican values, so its perfectly fine to state that. Im not working AGAINST Democrats. Im working AGAINST republicans who have infiltrated my party, including Hillary Clinton

(13,340 posts)We have a primary process. If you don't like a candidate, vote to defeat them in the primaries. But once nominated, they were selected by your fellow Democrats whether you like it or not.
Ramses
(721 posts)Its a very tightly controlled process. And I vow NEVER to vote for a candidate who hold republican policies, whether YOU like it or not.
Doesnt really matter. Select Hillary or Jeb or Cruz, and this country will continue into disaster Capitalism, poverty, wars, etc

Mostly because the majority of the population cant be bothered to do more than complain. There aren't that many people pulling the strings even at a statewide level. You can become a party boss fairly easily with a little drive.

I find it interesting that you've left off some key Democrat issues, like womens rights and marriage equality. Seems to be odd issues to leave out if you're trying to list of Democrat v Republican issues.
Anyway, is exactly what Republicans want - For Democrats to refuse to vote. Anyone encouraging people to NOT vote has ulterior motives.
Nice to see the plants outing themselves though - Can we start banning them now?
Ramses

(721 posts)dishonest politicans wont come out and say what they are. You can deny and distract and try to change the subject.
Hillary Clinton's policies, support, and ideals are firmly in the republican camp. Now you may be ok with that, but tens of millions of Americans are not ok with it.
It really doesnt matter as I said before because the rigged electronic voting will select America's next corporate tool, whether it be Hillary, Cruz, Jeb, Walker. The US will lurch further to the right, labor will continue to be dismantled, prisons will continue to be filled, and people will continue to enter into poverty and food insecurity
