Facts and Truth. That's what they hate. They want to live in some CONservative Fairy Land. They want to avoid Facts and Truth because neither of those things fits in with their fabricated Fairy Land worldview. They don't like uncomfortable or - Heaven forbid - Inconvenient Truths. That means something their darling dubya used to speak of with some level of incredulity. Anybody remember his "it's Hard Werk" quips. Like maybe he'd never faced any genuinely hard work before. Which I think is probably to be found under the Facts or Truth headings.

Funny, I keep hearing that same sort of thinking, echoed more and more now, everyday. Lear's presentation of the consummate bigot and why those were NOT the days needs to be reproduced, somehow, in the media of today.

Nobody ever wanted to be equated with being an "Archie" back then, once that sitcom reached mega-status in the ratings.

The right for people to vote and have that vote counted.

But your list shows the reason why the republicans have to suppress the vote
because they are so nasty to so many people.

Conservatives Grudgingly Praise Warren, Pelosi For Opposing 'Wall Street Giveaway'

Some conservatives have acknowledged that they have ideologically more in common than they would like to admit with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) after the progressive senator led the charge against a provision in the $1.1 trillion government funding bill that weakens regulations on financial institutions.

...

"The end times are upon us," Dustin Siggins wrote at Hot Air. "I find myself in agreement with not just Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), but House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)."

...

Some bloggers even said they could envision themselves voting for Warren were she to run for president in 2016 -- a possibility she has repeatedly denied.

"I hope that Sen. Warren will run for president in 2016 to force a national conversation on the Washington-Wall Street power nexus," The American Conservative's Rod Dreher wrote. "Hillary Clinton won’t talk about it. You know that no Republican presidential candidate will talk about it (with the possible -- possible -- exception of Rand Paul). We all need to be talking about it. A populist who talks like Elizabeth Warren and really means it is a Democrat a conservative like me would consider voting for, despite her social liberalism."

Mon Feb 23, 2015, 01:44 PM

They use the exact same corporate-friendly talking points, like how unions are all corrupt, which is almost impossible for most unions due to public reporting rules, and open elections. Or how we get layoffs while they work 50 hour weeks, when if they were union, we'd all get more work and better pay, not to mention pensions, health insurance, and much better work conditions.

I will say that the actions of a few, like the NYC janitors, or the occasional union secretary running off with group funds, do make us look bad. All I can say is that my experience was nothing like those entities. We worked hard, and gave eight for eight every day. Our hall cut out the driftwood and do-nothings almost two decades ago, and we compete favorably with non-unions while also putting up quality work. I took great pride in my work, and the work of most all of my co-workers.

My mom is the only one of the 4 siblings in that family not to now be a RW nut--she's a relatively liberal Democrat, thank goodness. Old Civil War battlefields.

ESPECIALLY the site of "Pickett's March" where they feel they earned SOMETHING.

They simply love money. Anything that stands in the way of that one thing is something to be attacked.

The sad part is many, far too many, Democrats think the exact same way.

Now, Republican VOTERS hate many of the things you listed, but the actual Republican politicians could give a shit one way or another. Their end goal is MONEY. Their hate speech is just that, speech. If they could champion universal health care, a cut of 90% to the military, a minimum wage of $25/hr, and truly equal rights across the board and make $$$$ while doing so...... Fuck, the next election would be the most liberal ever.

MONEY. Regardless of party, with very rare exceptions. It drives all of it.

In keeping with that thought,
they hate the 4th Amendment
they probably also hate the 4th Commandment because you're really not supposed to spend any money or work on the Sabbath

Sexual Freedom (the consensual kind, at least), social justice, critical thinking, marijuana, the environment, 1st Amendment rights, all the good stuff that makes me grateful to be an American citizen. Oh, and... Don Johnson, the man with the suit himself.
