Sanders to Boehner: No More Excuses, Fund Homeland Security

WASHINGTON, Feb. 25 – After the Senate today cleared the way to avoid a shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) urged House Speaker John Boehner to send the bill to the White House before Friday’s deadline:

“The Senate said in a clear, bipartisan way that the Department of Homeland Security should not be shut down and that we must remain vigilant against terrorist threats. The ball is now in the court of Speaker Boehner and his Republican House. Ninety-eight senators, including 54 Republicans, voted for a clean bill to fund the department. Speaker Boehner has run out of excuses. The House must pass a bill and get it to the president immediately.”

Barbara Boxer explained it perfectly....nary a whisper from the media busy fearmongering over drones and ISIS and snowstorms.

Once again the media can rock the GOP boat and mention the "impasse", because of "gridlock in Congress", and that the "GOP may get the blame" - but will not dare to mention the truth - the GOP are also setting the ocean on fire.
