From the Folks Who Brought You "Gore Is a Liar"....

Be extremely careful about anything that the corporate media says or does about any Democratic presidential candidate. Seriously. If you do not believe me, go read the Rolling Stone piece about the Press V. Al Gore. Remember, Kerry Was a Waffler, NBC beat the Drums of War for Iraq, and we had 24-7 panty sniffing when Clinton was president. Oh, and "America Held Hostage" during Carter.

1. English classes need a unit in recognizing propaganda.

I remember being handed a (I think) NYT article on Gore getting ready for a major speech but the word it used was "tinkering". Gave it back and said from "tinkering" alone I wouldn't believe a word of the article.

"forest green" and khakis and such!!! And my, my, isn't his Gentleman's Business ENORMOUS????

That's the coverage I remember from the 2000 campaign--it was a total exercise.

3. And? Kerry voted for the Iraq War, voted against funding it, then voted to fund it. Hence "he was

for it before he was against it."

Clinton did indeed have at least one affair while President, with other inappropriate behavior alleged, both during and prior to his Presidency.

But, all that is beside the point. Is your contention that, if one Democrat is accused of something and the allegation is false, then no allegation is true?

7. Front page NY Times, with photo -- is Bill Clinton signaling to Monica by the tie he's wearing?

This story really appeared in the Times as the Lewinsky affair was coming to the boil (1998?). Picture of Mr. Clinton, wearing nice tie, talking to some people. The "story" was speculation about possible attempts to communicate with Ms Lewinsky via the tie. If you weren't paying attention at the time, you may have forgotten just how hard the national press, led by the Times, searched for something to blame the President for in advance of any credible evidence he had done anything actually illegal.

I note that on the front page of today's times, we have Sec. Clinton's use of private email while at State. Meanwhile, down at Congress, Mr. Netanyahu will speak to as many people as he finds there. I think the OP is suggesting that the media create news by what they choose to write about at all, and that they have agendas. One of the seriously discussed talking points during the Gore campaign was whether the voters were experiencing "Clinton fatigue" at all the nasty stories associated with him, and by association, Mr. Gore. We were really experiencing press fatigue at the media's obsession with finding something to pin on Clinton. And despite it all, Mr. Gore won the election. The media had almost nothing to say about the possibility of a stolen election. But they warned us about Mr. Clinton's tie.
