(14,733 posts)No better no worse than all of these other Republicans. Problem is, we'd actually prefer Democrats to be 'better' than Republicans. We'd like to RAISE the bar, not just match those incompetents.

(46,416 posts)55,000 emails is a lot--she'd have time to do nothing else, if that was just her, typing away. I would think her staff did most correspondence. Did her chief of staff have a .gov email, for example? Is there an Office of Secretary of State .gov organizational address on which business got done?

Clinton spokesperson: 'Like Secretaries of State before her, she used her own email account when engaging with any Department officials. For government business, she emailed them on their Department accounts, with every expectation they would be retained. When the Department asked former Secretaries last year for help ensuring their emails were in fact retained, we immediately said yes' - statement

There will be a difference in what was "normal" in the pre whistle-blower era, and what we did after the whistle blowers leaked information. I don't think we all understood just how invasive these data collection were. And we certainly didn't have a technical fix to respond to it.
