United States that is their focus. However, without them, California Republicans never would have Finally have the issues as part of the platform. Slowly Republicans at least the few sane one left are accepting equality. That is how it works one changed mind at a time. Do I want them Democratic voters? Yes of course, but if we can get the opposition to see our side that is valuable too.

I was giving the reason they are part of the Republican Party. That is why. Sorry I was not clear.

has largely been winning over the last few decades. republicans have had much success over the years in terms of policy and enforcement (or lack thereof) for many of their pet issues (mainly of concern to big businesses). their one glaring failure has been the advancement of gay rights, particularly gay marriage.

so, as rare and confusing as a log cabin republican may be, the interests of that narrow constituency have done quite well.
