The right would never let the press behave this way and they win

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/politics/2015/03/hillary_clinton_private_email_scandal_no_one_gives_the_clintons_the_benefit.html

No, the heightened scrutiny isn’t fair: Together, the Clintons have dealt with a lifetime’s worth of bogus scandals. Despite this, the political world is loath to give either a chance before assuming the worst. But deserved or not, those are the breaks.

For as long as she’s a national figure—and especially when she runs for president—Hillary Clinton will get more scrutiny than anyone else in the field. The best response—the only response—is to do better: to be more open and transparent than all of her competitors. From here on, Clinton has to be twice as good, lest she end her career as just another presidential also-ran.

end of quote

It is literally unimaginable that these words would ever be written about a Republican no matter who he or she was or what he or she did. It wouldn't happen because the second it did the right would go ape shit. But this is done to leading Democrats with impunity. Make no mistake about this. Those words mean that Hillary and only Hillary will get a level of scrutiny that no one else will get and for no real reason. Again, this would never, not ever, not in a million years happen to any GOP politician. Yet it happened to Gore, it happened to Dean, then to Kerry, and finally to Hillary. And on our side, damn few consistantly hold the press to task for this behavior. Instead we gleefully use the stories to trash candidates we don't like. And then, we are shocked, just shocked I tell you that the very same sleezeballs turn around and attack our preferred candidates.

The press has no business whatsoever deciding that one candidate deserves harsher rules than all others. Yet we have consistently let the press do exactly that with impunity. The right would never do this. They often win. That isn't a coincidence.

There are very few real investigative journalists anymore imo. Most sold out the easy way, they don't use critical thinking because it could endanger their career.

I've always thought The Press was more inclined to favor the GOP over ANY other group no matter who it is. Follow the money trail.
