I would like to work for Democratic National convention in 2016

I live in a suburb of Philadelphia and would dearLy like to go. I don't think I can win an election as a delegate. However, I was wondering if there are any jobs with the convention. I would like to be paid for it but I would also consider being a volunteer. Does anyone know how to go about finding these positions? I have been a little active in local politics but I dropped out a bit due to family concerns. Any ideas?

You'll need to talk with the leadership folks. There are volunteer opportunities at the National Convention, but they are not numerous. Typically locals are hired for the nuts and bolts stuff. But, you might get some ideas from your state leadership, and the way to talk to the state leaders is through your district leadership.

I can get to the MN state convention as a delegate, but going to the national convention as a delegate is not in the cards for anyone not already in the party leadership, frankly. I'm too old to work myself up into those positions, so I'm not even thinking about the national convention. I'll probably be a state delegate in 2016, if the timing is right for my work. But no chance with the national convention.

Time to get active locally again if you want to go.

The Host Committee is at: http://www.phldnc.com/

As for the Party side, I would suggest you track down a Pennsylvania DNC member and/or someone who knows Gov. Rendell (who will know everybody working on this).
