University of South Dakota is becoming the first college in state to offer gender-neutral housing.

The University of South Dakota is becoming the first college in the state to offer gender-neutral housing.

Director of University Housing Todd Tucker says that allowing all students to live together regardless of gender will give more options to students, particularly those in the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community.

He says the option will make things easier for students who don't identify with a gender or their gender assigned at birth.

The university will offer the housing option on the fourth floor of the Richardson Hall dormitory. Several apartment-style residence halls will also allow it.

I've been there a few times for work.

My Dad was a grad of your rival SDSU. But that was in the 50's.
