Muslims and the PC reach around

What a convoluted issue for me. I come out of the box swinging against bigotry of all kinds finding myself defending Muslims from the mob.

But then I am reminded of what I have said so often about the intolerance, bigotry, misogyny and homophobia of Evangelical Christians to find that only a drop in the bucket compared to the intolerance, bigotry, misogyny and homophobia in the Muslim world. Or the death penalty for apostasy. Or stoning of women. Or the anti-Semitism for Christsake... Gosh...

Political correctness gone out of control as we recently saw in the Hicks case. That case was not about an atheist, a Muslim hater, or a parking spot nut, it was about a GUN ENTHUSIAST.

Though I do understand the necessity of the PC from those on top like the President who must play that PC game or down here in Dumbutt, Texas we would be adding Muslims to the bounty we already give on Indians and Mexicans. Though we are just about outa Indians...

I am not a frequent poster but a relatively long-time aficionado of DU.

Bigotry, stereotyping, and other processes that interfere with the concept that all of us are equal and deserve equal rights and obligations is anathema. As just one example, Ferguson is just the poster-child for just one of many endemic hometown issues; hopefully leading to a collective decision that we need to re-think how we do policing in this country. We have a major problem with authoritarianism.

You correctly identify the sad reality that such behavior is not confined to citizens of this country, the world of Islam, Israel, and more or less any other demographic we could name.
