at Selma. They had to cut in immediately after the speech and it was't over yet - Someone went over to the podium and was speaking (I don't know who I tuned in 45 min ago) and I wanted to know what was being said at that moment. I didn't need them to tell me what I had just heard. grrrrr. But it's over for real now.

there was a scene in which (I don't recall this precisely) they're watching the TV news and someone of the cast starts speaking. Archie shuts them up saying (paraphrase) "Will you keep quiet. They're telling us what we just watched."

a white kid in NY 50 years ago. We watched the tv news every day and so I was somewhat aware of what was going on. When people talk about not voting nowadays it upsets me because I know what people went through for that right.
