HDR's email practices were legal and acceptable! Past SOS's did the same thing she did, with not a peep said about it!
Dianne Frankenfeinstein needs to stop playing into the repug playbook, and suggesting a controversy where there is none.
Frankenfeinstein, shut the f*** up!

Could have been February 2nd when it was created.. 2/2 or the 22nd of any month.
I taxed myself getting the HDR, will leave the numbers to someone who is into numerology.

(341 posts)Having watched Feignstein a while, my nearest guess is she loves power and can't let anyone else get too much more than she has. Bring 'em down a notch or two if they're threatening to get too much higher up the ladder than she is.
It's just pure love for power, which male politicians have and maneuver for as well, so I disagree with "catfight". Plus I hate that word anyway, with all the chauvinism it carries and has been used to denigrate us when we just happen to be competing with another woman. What's the denigrating word for when men compete against men? Oh, that's right, there is none . . .
Anyway, back to Frightenstein, I don't think she's a cannibal though. That's one good thing I can say about her, I don't think she will just purely throw another Democrat under the bus without reason. She's not throwing HDR under the bus, but she's saying there's some bus coming that HDR needs to get out of the way of (supposedly, an HDR email "controversy" .
She's feigning that there's that bus out there, which is why I call her Feignstein (she does feign sometimes). This plays right into the repug narrative. She's coming off as an unwitting tool!

(13,877 posts)I lived in California for decades, and she's been in office most of that time. I have never known her...while agreeing with all you said...to interact in this way, to a Democrat, and yes...it is sexist as Hillary is the first woman candidate-to-maybe be. Boxer would not say that in a million years. And it's not Feinstein's job to criticize a fellow Democrat.
And you're right about the men vs men, but this is only one small instance where that is true. That's mostly true on all counts...that's why, to me, attacking another woman is just wrong. It's not like someone asked her for her opinion, even though I refused to read it, seems she came out all on her own.
Why go public? Why make a big deal? What make headlines? Why not just call Hillary? A Cheap Shot for her own publicity. I'm also upset because I lost respect for her...a strong woman in politics.

(90,565 posts)From your link -- this is what I heard Senator Feinstein say on MTP this morning:
A top Senate Democrat who has urged Hillary Clinton to run for president said on Sunday that Clinton was hurting herself by not doing more to address the controversy over the private email account that she used as secretary of state.
"What I would like is for her to come forward and say just what the situation is. Because she is the preeminent political figure right now. She is the leading candidate, whether it be Republican or Democrat, for the next president, to be the next president," Sen. Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) said on NBC's "Meet The Press." "I think that she needs to step up and come out and state exactly what the situation is ... I think, at this point, from this point on, the silence is going to hurt her."
So what is your beef with one or both women, that you need to be so ugly? Speak slowly and be concise -- I want to understand where you're coming from.

(341 posts)I quote the substantive excerpt from your quote, thanks for providing it!:
"the silence is going to hurt her"
What the f***, F-stein??? HDR, herself and via her allies, have not BEEN SILENT on this matter. It's been quite clearly articulated that the email practices were not only legal, but also there is precedent with prior SOS's!!! And it's not going to HURT her, because it's only a "controversy" in the wing-nut's demented minds!
The repugs have the playbook on how to damage Hillary with this nonsense of a TOTAL non-issue, and "the silence is going to hurt her" sounds like something straight out of it!
Call "your" Senator, and help her get sorted out!
