but, Walker's lack of a diploma and when he quit, need to be mentioned whenever his name is mentioned. Democrats need to know it by heart. Apologies for not acknowledging your original intent in the other comment.

Iranian leaders were intelligent enough to receive outstanding educations in American universities. The ass-wipe who is destroying Wisconsin for the swinging Kochs dropped out of university to become the drool-dropping half-wit that he is. I got it now. Walker has kissed enough corporate ass, hopefully he thinks, to become president so he can then have America's military blow the shit out of Iran. Do I understand the Koch-sucker plan correctly?

That's the generation more or less that's in power now.

If you were 20 in 1979 when the shah was deposed you'd be 55 now.

I went to Cal Poly Pomona in the late '60s, early '70s and there were many many Iranian students there. I remember them having protests against the shah in the central gathering area. I think most were there for engineering degrees, but the school also has many ag programs. I also remember them being referred to in derogatory terms and have always wondered if that had influenced their view of Americans.

on edit: one thing I do remember is that some Iranian students were paranoid about the Iranian intelligence service SAVAK -- paranoid that some of their fellow students were spies.

I recall someone referring to 'C-J's' and I asked what that was. Told it meant camel jockeys and referred to the Iranian or other Middle Eastern students. I remember guys saying that the 'cj's' were always trying to get the blonde girls. I honestly don't know that they were treated badly, or if they knew about these terms but I would think they would have heard them.

That was around '69/'70 when I was a freshman and was sort of shell shocked by the whole college scene, just trying to adjust to it all. I just thought/think it was pretty mean to use those names.

I think I associated it with the Iranians because they stood out on campus at that time, with the protests against the shah, and the name was directed towards them. But I'm sure you are right and it probably was used for anyone from the Middle East then, and I just wasn't aware enough to know the difference.

No wonder the useless corporate media has avoided covering the story....and the GOP is so clearly WRONG and confusing a treaty with a multinational agreement....this will not end well for the GOP.

Better to avoid discussion of it.

Great information, Manny.
