Barack Obama slams Scott Walker on right-to-work law
By KENDALL BREITMAN 3/10/15 6:38 AM EDT Updated 3/10/15 11:11 AM EDT

In an unmistakable shot at Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, President Barack Obama slammed Wisconsin’s new right-to-work law in a statement late Monday, calling it “inexcusable.”

Unions were able to build America’s middle class by demanding higher wages, benefits, worker protection and ensuring a safe work environment, Obama said. “So it’s inexcusable that, over the past several years, just when middle-class families and workers need that kind of security the most, there’s been a sustained, coordinated assault on unions, led by powerful interests and their allies in government,” he said.

So he speaks up about right to work laws, but it doesn't matter because it's nothing more than a speech.

Got it.

I provided a link detailing how Obama actually spoke up about those laws on Monday.

So Ed is wrong.

The OP falls apart.

Dems because of the Trade talks. I have to agree with ED. Obama has done so many good things but the middle class with no do good when Labor does not do good.

He did nothing to support Union members in Wisconsin 4 years ago. Never did put on this walking shoes as he promised.

He abandoned his pro labor platform and has pushed no pro labor legislation, as he said he would when he was campaigning.

So he gave a speech last weekend and said nice things about unions and we union members are supposed to forget he has done nothing to support labor since he took office??!

Because he gave a nice speech. SMH

Common wisdom is every disaster holds opportunity.

The timing is consistent enough to suggest that opportunity includes being able to safely support things that the base wants, but which have zero chance of passing, and no risk of upsetting the economic conservatives' campaign donors.

I personally think it's ok to be disappointed on this topic. Being disappointed for a reason is OK, it doesn't necessarily make a person a hater.
