Still so furious I can barely breathe. The 47 demand to be looked at.

I'm ashamed and livid over my 2 Senators as well- Richard Burr and Thom Tillis - both now gave me brand new reasons for being exasperated.
Burr has been a weak and pretty useless follower for years. I think of him as a place card. And Tillis came in and showed his lack of brain power right off the bat by saying food servers don't necessarily need to be required to wash their hands ....

the smilies are for my Senators.

And that alone disqualifies them from ever winning the White House. Traitors should never even come near our White House, and that's what these three, and the other 46, are - Traitors in line with the U.S. Gov't-hating, racist, State's rights policies of their State Neo-Confederate brethren.

I lived in Mississippi for years, and the irrational longing and desire most white Republicans there have to return to a Confederacy (preferably with slavery) cannot be overstated.

They're careful not to say so in public; but when they invite you to their barbecues thinking you're "one of them," and they get a few drinks in them - oh boy! They're ready for the SAE bus.

I would be remiss though if I didn't also mention that a lot of white folks in Mississippi feel nothing but shame that antebellum nostalgia and racial hatred are still so strong in the Deep South; but they know they're outnumbered, and will usually sound only the meekest objections when the subject comes up.

What accounts for the nostalgia, I don't exactly know. Poor whites - and 90% of white people were poor in the 19th century South - often lived worse than the slaves (slaves, after all, were property; but "white trash" were nothing at all). Many still seem to think they'd strike it rich if the South seceded, that they'd suddenly become gods among ants.

Qué será.

and their vindictiveness is even longer. These are like the most spoiled and mean kids on the playground who don't accept defeat even when they're wrong, and who'll come back at you at a later time when you're not looking to sucker-punch you upside the head the moment the opportunity presents itself.

The fact that there is still a Civil War Reenactment in the South should tell you all you need to know about how they think and operate.

just as unpleasant - here in the Inland Empire.

In fact, I'd nearly gone fist to fist with one at a gas station two months back when her 14-year-old daughter challenged my 23-year-old daughter because she believed we should've given up our gas pump to her mother who drove a huge Chevy truck and we drove a Honda Fit Sport and she had trouble maneuvering that big thing to the gas pump AT THEN END of the row.

The mother came stamping over to our pump just as I finished pumping gas, and she nearly shoved my daughter back. I stepped in between them and shoved her back with my chest. She hauled her fist back to punch me and I told her, "Go ahead. Give it your best shot. Then it's my turn."

She, of course didn't. To make a long and unpleasant story short, my daughter and I got into our car and I heard her yell out as we drove away: "You don't belong here, brown illegals!"

Unfortunately for her, there were more Mexican-Americans and Black Americans at the gas station who took our side and they all gave them dirty looks.

Also, last summer, when we drove up into the mountains, we stopped at some small town. I really didn't want to because I saw a few Confederate flags flapping by a couple of houses and shops, but we had people over from Holland who wanted to take photos. Anyway, we were walking around and making photos of the mountain ridge and afterward, as we headed back to our van, we heard someone yell out to us: "GO HOME!"

So it's clear that we have our share of Neo-Confederates here, too.

we won't have to be called out because of our skin color anymore.

My husband who is White, blond, and blue-eyed, never has a problem and is never treated with such disrespect - and he wasn't even born in this country! He's not even an American citizen. He's Dutch and speaks with an accent but his accent is very "Jersey-like". People always think he comes from back east. When they ask if he's from Jersey or New York, he always tells them to go even further east...across the Atlantic! Then he tells them he's from Holland and they have a good laugh.

As for my children being beautiful? I'd like to think so, but then again, I'm biased.

They take after their father in appearance but they have my coloring (brown eyes, darker hair, except my oldest has my black hair).

My daughter is a White version of me. She's got chestnut brown hair naturally (used to be strawberry blonde as a child) and when she dyed her hair (bright) red, she looked a lot like Jessica Rabbit, or so people tell her. The faux-eyelashes she wears and the way she wears her hair might have a lot to do with it (hehehe).

My youngest son could be the younger brother of Keanu Reeves, I guess, since Keanu has an Asian father and a White mother. In my son's case, it's the other way around, i.e., White father, Asian mother. But my husband has some strong Dutch/Danish genes! NONE of my children look remotely Asian!

None of the 47 are from my state. However, they are inhabitants of my nation. I find their actions to be not only really stupid, but more importantly, extremely dangerous. Each and every one of them needs to be removed from office the next time they come up for re-election. It's a shame they don't simply resign from office -- but they obviously have no shame whatsoever.

i have always been pretty good about that. I don't even like petting my cat if I don't think my hands are pretty clean. She works hard enough at keeping herself beautiful, I hate to gunk up her fur with cruddy hands!

To the Editor:

Re “G.O.P. Senators Write to Tehran on Nuclear Pact” (front page, March 10): The letter this week by 47 Republican senators to Iranian leaders informing them that any agreement on nuclear activities signed by President Obama could be reversed “with the stroke of a pen” by a future president shows a glaring disregard for American and international law.

Starting with George Washington, presidents have signed thousands of executive agreements with other nations that have the force of law under the United States Constitution and international law.

The Constitution has been construed by the Supreme Court as allowing the president to enter into such binding agreements as part of his executive powers. While such agreements in theory could be abrogated by an American president or a subsequent law, under international law such agreements would continue to be binding on the United States. The attempted breach would give rise to a charge that the United States was violating international law.

Senators, who are sworn to uphold the Constitution, should be more careful in making irresponsible statements about the United States’ international obligations.

I would have to decline, because he doesn't believe in washing hands and I'm pretty sure I can guess where his hands have been. He was bound to have had an itch on or near his head at some point.
