(106,886 posts)i.e. So this year's subsidy would "expire" at year's end but continue as recalculated for the next tax year.
(disclaimer) I may be off on the details, though, so a suggestion for up to date info - IRS, DHHS, and the Kaiser Foundation (which has a great list of info on the ACA). Always best to go to the most reliable source, as they say. And Kaiser has a great track record for accurate, detailed, user friendly tools.

(92,116 posts)were the case, which I would hope it isn't, because 87% of the folks on the ACA need those subsidies, then why would they even bring the case of subsidies before the SC if they were to expire in 2017?

The first 3 years the federal government pays 100%.
Hard to get a better deal than that.
That is my understanding.
