I posted a bit of rant about a project I was working on under absurd circumstances last week...

So I delivered it early at 5 PM today so that I could be left the hell alone for the weekend and then at 7:00 i get an email from the business owner saying that it doesn't work in IE8 which is all they have in a bunch of their offices - first time they mentioned that.
Not to mention that we test the latest 2 versions of ios, android, windows and osx along with the last 2 versions of firefox and chrome, and the last 3 versions of ie, plus ladscape/protrait for mobile... a total of 73 different testing scenarios.
I told them that if thats what they wanted they should have asked ahead of time as that is out of the bounds of industry standards.
oh well... just can't win. too bad for them. i told my boss good luck, see you monday.

I don't know anyone who is doing things even half right that aren't at last on ie 9. Supporting ie would mean 4 versions of ie support. Ain't gonna happen with responsive websites. Especially ones that have to be built in 3 weeks.
Did you forget the tag?

(13,252 posts)My thanks for reminding me why I left IT. Computer work is so much more fun when it's done for my own stuff and on my own informed schedule.
I almost like computers again.
Sounds like my day, only I don't have clue what IE8 is! HAHA
