...is the ability to get them to buy into fear-based ignorance and propaganda without ever engaging a brain cell. I'm convinced this is why Republicans despise public education and public educators. Between this, and corporate (Republican) controlled media, Tea Party infested "supreme" court, Koch-purchased politicians, ALEC, SPN et al., Dems are done unless people get their lazy asses out and vote and the idiot "Third Way" Republican Lites get their heads out of their asses and unless ALL Dems learn to get behind the Obama successes and until they learn to UNITE and to LOUDLY FIGHT BACK.
Even after 2014, DWS continues with her half-assed, disinterested attitude towards it all and mainstream Dems STUPIDLY continue to distance themselves from Warren, Sanders, and Obama on economic and populist issues - or vice-versa ie: Obama should be supporting Sanders and Warren's plan to EXPAND, NOT CUT Social Security. EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT should be on board with Sanders on this. OPENLY AND LOUDLY. But other than Sanders and Warren what do we have? Crickets......
And meanwhile, we end up with even more Elliot Rodger clones in our US Senate and the American Taliban caucus grows ever larger.
The rest of the world looks at the dysfunctional mess and most of them feel America's government has gone stark, raving MAD. The antics of the Koch/Rodger/Taliban contingent are mostly if not completely to blame. And now, we have this turd atop the GOP turdpile who in less than 2.5 months, has managed to embarrass his entire country and stab his Commander in Chief in the back after serving same in the Army. The GOP seems now to only attract total fascist, murderous, traitorous, misogynist LOONS. And they're running and ruining this country.
I understand why people don't want to vote. I still think they SHOULD regardless (and I do myself), but I understand why they do not. If there were some robbers robbing a huge bank and emptying it of all the money, tearing it down and destroying the entire town and looting everything they could get their hands on -- and at the same time, some simpering, cowering, hiding (or just plain oblivious) bystanders watching them do it without doing a THING to stop them - without shouting or calling police or anything - just standing their shrugging in indifference to what is going on and all the people being hurt by it - that's our political picture right now.
We have robber barons (Republicans and friends - the American Taliban/Teaparty/Koch/Elliot Roger Wing) -- and we have the Paintywaist Ninny Party - milquetoast, Third Way, Centrist, Republican Lite. And the few who DO something and who DO fight - are outcast by the rest.
Who is worse? The goddamned robbers -- or those standing by and letting them destroy the entire place and steal everything in it - while they marginalize the few brave souls trying to fight the robber barons?
Well.....next election, there will be even MORE members of the American Taliban/Teaparty/Koch/Elliot Roger Wing of the GOP. And what are we going to DO about it?
