Huckabee Pursues Unconventional Ways to Fund a Campaign

The New York Times:

In a wood-paneled study lined with books and framed family photos, the prospective presidential candidate looks into the camera. “I’m Mike Huckabee,” he says with all the folksy charm that propelled a career as a preacher, politician and broadcaster.

But this is no campaign ad. It is an Internet infomercial for a dubious diabetes treatment, in which Mr. Huckabee, who is contemplating a run for the Republican nomination in 2016, tells viewers to ignore “Big Pharma” and instead points them to a “weird spice, kitchen-cabinet cure,” consisting of dietary supplements.

“Let me tell you, diabetes can be reversed,” Mr. Huckabee says. “I should know because I did it. Today you can, too.”

The American Diabetes Association and the Canadian Diabetes Association caution against treatments like the one peddled by the company Mr. Huckabee represents.

lifestyle by campaigning. Newt, Santorum, Palin, all support themselves by campaigning, and it's lucrative. Sell thirteen editions of the same book with a different title each time, all written by ghost writers at Liberty University. Contributions from Uncle Dave and Uncle Tom Koch to keep repeating the same nonsense and continuing to attract media attention.

It's a hard job, but somebody has to do it.

He is a master of the practice of charlatanism. Just another snake oil salesman.

he dropped 100 pounds, his diabetic condition did go away.
Sad that half the people who see this will go for it. Just like them voting for him.

Many of his supporters do not, and many are not covered.

Shame on him to exploit this, but alas, I guess he truly believes in what he's doing.

He is relaying very dangerous information to easily fooled people suffering from a real medical condition all in the name of greed. How many people are going to deteriorate more due to diabetes because they chose to listen to him and only use supplementary treatments. Yes, cinnamon has shown to help regulate blood sugar as well as green tea and other easy to find products. But, they are only an aid in a healthier life style. They are not a cure. Diet, exercise, and taking medical advice and treatments(the latter being most important) are the only true steps and practices anyone with this very real condition should ever do

Sarah Palin would probably be willing to model the jewelry.
