Boeing CEO McNerney's compensation grows 24 percent to nearly $29M
McNerney thanks all employees who gave up their pensions to pay for this.
For Boeing CEO Jim McNerney and other executives of one of Washington state's largest employers, 2014 was a good year.
McNerney took home nearly $29 million last year, including $14 million in bonuses the maximum amount he could have earned. That's an increase of 24 percent over the previous year, according to the Wall Street Journal. In addition to the bonuses, executives also saw the benefit of interest rates on their pensions, which contributed to the increase in compensation.
Boeing Commercial Airlines CEO Ray Conner also had a good year. He took home $16 million, including a $1.3 million bonus.
Unlike the executives, bonuses for Boeing (NYSE: BA) employees were down in 2014 because the company failed to exceed financial performance incentives, according to the Seattle Times.
