Jon Stewart Slams GOP Blocking Sex-Trafficking Bill As 'F**kery'

On Tuesday, Jon Stewart announced "officially" that when he steps down from "The Daily Show" he will be getting his own program on C-SPAN, "Hatewatch."

In a sneak preview of the new show, Stewart, against a pastel C-SPAN background, took a look at Senate gridlock over a bipartisan bill meant to curb sex-trafficking and provide more resources to law enforcement. "That sounds like something I'd hate," a much-restrained Stewart said. "Tell me more."

Democrats were struggling to peel off anti-abortion additions to the sex-trafficking bill inserted by Republicans. Stewart asked how the Democrats allowed the bill to get past committee with these additions in tact. Reports said, Democrats admitted they didn't read it.

"You can blame on it on staff, blame it on whoever you wanna blame it on," Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) said. "How about I blame it on you?" Stewart shot back from the studio.

"Senator Harry Reid, the guy in charge of Senate Democrats, whose last name is literally (pronounced) 'Reid," Stewart said slowly. "How did you not read this bill." By the end of the segment, Stewart preemptively stepped down from his 6-minute tenure at C-SPAN.
