I am watching former ambassador to Japan, Thomas Schieffer, on CNN who served from 2005 to 2009 so he is presumably a Republican as he was appointed by George Bush. He is discussing the threats made to the current ambassador, Caroline Kennedy. He is saying what a hard working and good ambassador she is and these threats aren't that uncommon.
I am saying to myself this fella seems okay...
Update-He's a Texas Democrat, former Bush business partner, and brother of CBS correspondent Bob Schieffer
But damn if I'm going to say something nice about George Bush*

But as a case in point, I once worked for a (technically, since her photo was next to the dictionary definition of RINO - she was GOP only because she was married to a very high-office GOP dude, and to officially call herself a Dem would've been scandal for him) Rethug's campaign. I do wish she had just done it and dealt with the scandal, though.

I do not really do hate, to hard on you. Makes you actually sick, I stay away from provocation when I can, very seldom name call. I can have a debate with anyone who is honest in what they believe and will/do discuss politics with people whom I disagree. When it starts to diminish into name calling, I generally just turn my back on the person and end the discussion.
Life is just to short to be angry ... anytime.
My parents are republicans ... they are in their 80's, just no point in arguing the position. They are, as a general rule, good people who have lived productive lives and are enjoying their retirement. When I visit politics rarely come up, there are just better topics of conversation.
Do they bug me to go to church? Yes.
Do they help the homeless and hungry through that church? Yes.
People can be different in various ways and still be good people. And, again, in the end there just is not enough time for hate and anger.
