There is no "free" in the address.
I decided to check my credit report, what with all the stories about identity theft and I've paid off my car loan..
So went to Yahoo and one would think this should be at the top of the search results.
No.
There are sites with myscore, or CreditKarm (really?), USGOVconnect, and other permutations. These are not free. One way or the other you will end up paying or not getting a good report.
No, I am not associated with the real site. But could not believe that I had to scroll down a whole screen length to find the right one.

(2,886 posts)I have a reminder in my calendar that comes up three times a year, so I can make sure nothing is amiss. I keep the address of the real web site in that reminder. Handy, though half the time I ignore it...

(5,417 posts)Annualcreditreport.com is mandated by the federal government and is totally free, but they will try to sell you stuff that you can decline.
Credit karma is also free and very good.

(4,219 posts)annualcreditreport.com doesn't give scores, but you can tell from whats on your reports where you are at, basically.
You can get a decent version of your FICO scores from the 3 credit reporting agencies (Experian, TransUnion and Equifax)
at myfico.com

(1,713 posts)Did they take credit card info from you? If so, they're charging you whether you were aware of it or not. Many people complain of the deception and they refund upon complaint - but only a small percentage of people bother to do so. That's their business model. I made that mistake once.
