There are gun threads all over GD. They're not getting locked. I don't fault anyone for starting a new one.

I'm not sure why today is different

Also, I didn't realize this OP was about ads on DU, since they didn't say so, and I have adblock so I don't see ads anyway.

And are usually linked to what is being discussed in the board as a "keyword" search. Due to several gun threads today, that's what the software chose to host.
