Deputies: Kids slept on floor, chained to washing machine with dog collars (I weep for my state)

Fucking Monsters roaming this planet!

A 58-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday after authorities found out her grandchildren were sleeping on the floor with their arms chained to a washing machine with dog collars, an arrest affidavit said.

Three children were living in Linda Brantly's home in Orange County, but have since been taken out of the home and placed in foster care, according to a Department of Children and Families spokesman.

A DCF investigator called Orange County Sheriff's Office after talking to one of the children about a separate sexual battery accusation, the affidavit said.

Deputies found two dog leashes and collars that were tied to the washing machine. The children would attach their hands to the collars and go to sleep without any blankets or pillows, authorities allege. The children did not appear to be injured, deputies said.

DCF spokesperson David Ocasio said Brantly was allegedly disciplining the children.

<snip>
A North Carolina man accused of chaining an 11-year-old boy to a porch with a dead chicken hanging around his neck pleaded guilty on Wednesday to child abuse charges and was sentenced to up to 10 years in prison, his attorney said.

Dorian Harper, 58, was arrested in November 2013 after authorities in Union County, near Charlotte, found the foster child shivering and shackled by his ankle to the front porch of the home where he was living.

Detectives said Harper, a former emergency room nurse, put the dead chicken around the boy's neck to punish him for killing a chicken on the farm where Harper lived with his longtime girlfriend, Wanda Sue Larson

---------------------
Then there's the so-called mother in Jamaica who killed her one year old because the courts gave her ex-husband custody of the child. The sad truth is that on the day of the court hearing, she told her mother that if he got custody she would kill the child.

things to children, in all the states, all the countries. Florida just gets more publicity. Because, to some, it is a chance to jeer.
Hell, my sister, my brother, and I were beaten and yelled at - loudly - every day, for years - and no one said a word or lifted a finger, not neighbors or family. In Pennsylvania.

Where's the best place to go if you've got no place to go? Straight now I-95 to The Sunshine State. I grew up in Florida, but left years ago as it got wackier and wackier. I'm a member of a private FB group about my old home town, and it has convinced me to never, ever move back. A small beach-front town, with murders, meth labs, a dead body dumped on someone's front lawn, every day a different story. It's absolutely crazy! A small town, but totally out of whack. It sounds like I'm reading the paper from New York City or something...but I don't think NYC is as bad. All of the nuts, when they're at the end of their rope with nothing else left, head to Florida. It's become a bouillabaisse of crazy, a thick stew comprised of all the worst elements of society. Starting with their governor.

10. Well, I don't FEEL like one of the worst elements of society. Unless you count being a Progressive.

That broad brush thing is kinda slap-dash, but it does tell me a bit, at least, about lack of logic or reaching conclusions a bit too easily. Have a superb day!

I owned two business there, I ran ASP surf contests there, I helped develop a commerce area on the beach. I spend much time there and return to my home town several times a year, as I still have family there. I feel I am qualified to voice my opinion.

12. So, since I live in Florida, I am a bad person, then. Because you spent so much time in Florida.

Okay, 58 is not that old, but she's gotta be backwards, ignorant, and just plain not very bright if she thinks those are good ways to discipline children.
